Health Coaching 101 3.6.2024

It seems as if everyone is a coach these days. I think that says something about the culture we live in. We need help! We feel alone, disconnected, and unsupported. Health coaches can fill the gap and provide a sounding board, be accountability partners, help disseminate information, and be our cheerleaders. You do not need to do your life alone! I used to be confused about what was important to me and I often could not identify what I wanted. Utilizing coaching allowed me to discover what I wanted and how to get there!

A health and wellness coach can help you befriend your needs, feelings, and desires. You can uncover what is important to you through coaching and define your values and beliefs. These information pieces are necessary to create meaningful action and lasting change. Habits are the usual way of doing something and are often acts we do not even consider. When I want to create a new habit it is helpful to set myself up for success. I need to determine why is this new habit important to me. I also look at what can get in the way of my success. Finding what is reasonable and what will work for me in my life allows me to personalize my actions so I am not placing unreasonable pressure (which can lead to failure) on the process.

We are always growing and changing, it is inevitable. A health and wellness coach can help empower our growth in a way that respects who we are and what we want. Coaching highlights our strengths, discovers our challenges and concerns, and understands our whole health picture. A health and wellness coach helps troubleshoot and keep us on track when we falter. A health coach can be a powerful ally in our journey to wellness!
